1. Reproduce the issue with a specific query
Write down the exact search, expected product and active filters. Try the product name and then its reference or SKU. Compare with an unfiltered session. One empty result does not prove that the entire engine is broken.
2. Check publication, visibility and stock
In WooCommerce, confirm the product is published, its catalog visibility and whether your settings hide out-of-stock products. Check variations too: relevant information may be attached to a variant rather than the parent data used by the integration.
3. Check what data reaches the search index
If you use an external integration, verify when the product was synced and whether the engine received its name, SKU, price, categories and stock. Fixing a WooCommerce listing won't immediately help if the search index still holds old data.
4. Try the words a customer would use
A UPS, battery backup and uninterruptible power supply can describe related needs without using the same words. Review local vocabulary, units and common typos. Configure synonyms carefully: joining terms that aren't equivalent can reduce relevance.
5. Separate missing results from missing interest
If products appear but receive no clicks, review whether they answer the query, whether images and prices are clear and whether availability restrictions apply. Adding synonyms is not a universal solution.
6. Measure whether your change helps
UBÍKALO analytics can identify zero-result terms, searches without clicks and associated products. Prioritize repeated failures and record changes. If activity is limited, collect more data before attributing an improvement to a single adjustment.
